A new year outfit post featuring LULU'S!!!

An official blog post for the new year!
I have not posted since September! Life has been busy - yes but ultimately I am still just unsure of the direction that I want to take my blog. So until then I will stick with my initial purpose of starting my blog. Aside from the personal journal aspect of it, I wanted to provide real life looks and inspiration to women. When it comes to fashion I love seeing what people put together and how different pieces of clothing are styled!
My favorite thing is looking for outfit inspiration and realizing I have all the pieces in my closet to re-create it! I hope this outfit does that for you!
The main focus of this outfit is this adorable hat from Lulu's! I have wanted one of these hats for SO long! I think they add so much to an outfit and take you from a normal average out fit to super stylish! These big hats can be worn in the fall for a cozy warm look and you better believe I will be pulling it back out this summer to wear on the beach!
To achieve this super causal yet put together look, all you need is a cute pair of booties, tights or leggings (or not if it's warm where you live) a basic cotton fitted dress, casual flannel (that could even be your hubby's or boyfriends) and this cute BIG hat!

30. Thank you.

This past week I turned 30, yes 30. I wanted to make sure I documented my big 3-0. When it rains it pours, that's how the saying goes. Boy is that true for me this past week. It has been so so busy and my birthday just happened to fall during this time. I have to be honest here and say it was a very emotional day. I think big birthdays come with expectations and hype. For me the emotiojns were high too, and I can't realy pinpoint why, it was just a big day. Now that I have time to reflect and document this milestone birthday, there are a couple things I want to remember.
I am so incredibley thankful to have turned 30, as it is a privledge denied to many. Words cannot express my love for my amazing husband, I woke up to flowers, balloons, my favorite donuts, a coffee run, a beautiful picture of my family and a sweet card thank you B for and you do to make me feel special, loved and appreciated. My friends have always been amazing, they are like my sisters. Thank you to my best friend for the early birthday surprise of flying up to Utah to visit me and arranging a great weekend getaway in Park City. I loved and needed the close BFF time more than ever. Thank you to my parents who came up to visit us and watch baby K while our babysitter is out of town. I am so happy that Kingsley gets to spend time with her grandparents all week. The sweet cards, flowers, messages, calls etc all made me feel special and loved. Thank you to the people that make up my world.
The best gift of all is my precious baby girl, I am filled with a whole new kind of love. I have always dreamed of being a momma and I am so thankful to have Kingsley as my daughter. She is the most incredible baby and I just stare at her in amazement. I cannot believe we created her. I cannot believe she was in my belly for 10 months. She is a beautiful miracle. Thank you Kingsley for making me a momma. I promise to love you, teach you, guide you and be the best example to you. You are my angel baby and I love you more than any words could possibly say.
Thank you 30. I am blessed and filled with gratitude.

This might be my LAST outfit post with the bump!

Well, I have reached my very LAST week of pregnancy, wow that is so surreal to even think.
The last week.
The last 7 days!
I really can’t believe it, it has gone so fast and this whole experience has been nothing short of incredible. Each day has brought so much joy knowing that we are going to have a daughter. Knowing that she is growing safely inside of me, it’s such a blessing. I can’t imagine what it will be like to finally meet her. To have her look up at me, to see her, finally! To know who has been in my tummy these past 10 months. She has been so good to me. Luckily I didn’t have morning sickness, my only experience was tiredness in the first and last trimesters. I am so thankful for that. Now as I sit here writing this, I can’t help but wonder what the next 7 days will bring. How will this experience happen for me. What will it be like? The unknown is sometimes the hardest thing but at the same time it is just part of life, the surprises. For all I know I could go later than my due date, I hope not because we are so excited to meet her!
We are so happy knowing that soon enough we will be a family and have our little girl here with us. I have to admit it will be weird not having this baby belly anymore. Not feeling her move and kick around. As uncomfortable as I am, and the time it takes me to even turn over in bed at night, I will say that I’ll miss it. It really is a miracle and it’s something that I have enjoyed so much.
I also want to give a big thank you to my hubby. He has been so incredible through this whole experience. He is supportive, encouraging, appreciative and all around my biggest fan. He tells me how beautiful I am and how pretty I look. He asks me how I slept every single morning. He gives me head massages almost every night, he massages my back when I can’t sleep.
He tells me everything will be OK and the labor will be just fine, that he’ll be right by my side for every single moment and every step of the way. It reassures me and makes me so happy, makes me feel safe…
But the best thing of all is he thanks for me carrying our baby girl.
It’s all I could ask for. Thank you B, thank you for being by my side and being my everything.
Now that I have gotten some of those last pregnancy thoughts out, I wanted to do one more outfit post in case this is my last with the bump. Kinda sad to think so I had to make sure I got another bump post in!
Let me start by saying, I LOVE Nordstrom Rack! I find some of my absolute favorite items there! This dress caught my eye and I loved it even more once I put it on. I love the bright, vibrant pattern and the style was perfect. I think it will still be quite cute once the baby bump is gone so it was a must purchase item!
I paired this dress with these cute wedges from LULU’s. They are the perfect height and color that go with almost anything.

2 Days - 2 Looks! The Belted Bump!

Here is my second item from The Belted Bump! How cute is the Quinn Chain Maternity belt?! I am loving the coral/pink color for summer oh, and this belt does come in mint as well so keep that in mind! I love how the belt is adjustable for the belly and will fit all throughout your stages with the growing bump.
I was also thinking about how these belts would be great for a gender reveal or a cute accessory for the mama-to-be to wear at her shower. They add so much to any outfit and bring the eye right to your belly.
Again The Belted Bump is offering 15% off to my readers with the promo code 15OFFBUMP. All you have to do is "like" The Belted Bump on Facebook and follow along on instagram @thebeltedbump! Take a look around the website at all the cute belts to accessorize your growing bump!
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope to post a couple more maternity outfits before I have this little girl. I'm down to 3 weeks, can you believe it!?
Any last minute advice from all you mammas?

2 Days - 2 Looks! The Belted Bump!

Today I am so excited to be featuring these fantastic maternity belts! A friend of mine just launched The Belted Bump which features these cute belts to style your bump! I am doing a two-day feature where you will see two different belts styled on this bump of mine. These simple yet stunning belts add so much to a plain black dress and I love that they are the perfect easy accessory to enhance the bump and enhance your style!
In my opinion, the hardest thing about dressing stylish yet still comfortable when you are this far along in your pregnancy is variety. I find myself going back to the same 5-10 items I have in my maternity wardrobe and trying to mix them around or incorporate cute jackets, scarves, belts, etc. The fact that I can turn to my fav 5 but just accessorize them with these cute belts is so nice! I love love love this teal belt with the rhinestones, teal is one of my favorite colors right now and with the red lip, I thought it was perfect for this simple black maternity maxi!
The Belted Bump is offering 15% off to my readers with the promo code 15OFFBUMP. All you have to do is "like" The Belted Bump on Facebook and follow along on instagram @thebeltedbump! Take a look around her website at all the cute belts to accessorize your growing bump!
These are also great for maternity shoots or announcements since they accentuate the belly and draw your attention right to the belly!
I'll be featuring another style this week so be sure to check back and see what you think!

Utah Baby Shower!

It's crazy to think we have alomst been living in Utah for a whole year. A year ago I didn't know how it would all work out. We wanted to move to Utah and we planned on moving in the summer, we had jobs lined up but still it was a new adventure. After visiting so often, I knew I would really like it here but at the same time it was going to be very different from what I knew and where I was moving from. Especially the weather! The winter honestly wasn't that bad in my opinion and the change of seasons was something I really enjoyed, I now appreciate those changes.
Anyway, back to this post, it's just pretty incredible to see all the support we had on welcoming our new baby girl. I have gotten closer to friends that I already had here and have also made lots of new ones. To me, the people are what make your world and I have met some really great people up here, and to think, only a year ago... I didn't even know some of them.
Life is amazing, all the unknowns and unexpected's that turn out so great. I am so thankful to all the people who came to celebrate and thank you to my closest friends for hosting such a beautiful shower. I had such a wonderful day and felt lots of love and support!
I am so excited to share all the photos of the wonderful day with you! The little details were so amazing and I think everyone had a great time! I cannot thank my friends and mother-in-law enough for all the hard work that went into this shower. Thank you. Thank you.
I wish I would have gotten a few more photos but it all goes so quickly! All the pictures I have are below. Oh and one more thing I must mention is the sewing talent in this city. I mean, it's incredible. I am learing to sew myself but I am no where near the level of my closest friend and MIL. They both made me quilts that are absolutely breathtaking! I will share those in another post but the work that goes into them, not to mention the thoughtfulness and love - ahhh it is just amazing. Our little girl will have so many unique memorable items that I appreciate and I know she will appreciate as she grows up.
My heart is full and I am so thankful for the wonderful people that surround me.
